James Johnson Testimony
I grew up in a country home in a loving, Christian, household. My dad was a pastor, and my mom took care of us all at home. With three older brothers, my childhood was wild to say the least. But I could not ask for a better upbringing than what my parents provided. They taught me right from wrong and how I should live my life as a Christian. However, despite all that they taught me, I chose the path of drinking and partying in my high school years. I quit high school my senior year and my life of addiction continued to progress. The Lord blessed me with a beautiful, healthy daughter when I was thirty years old, but in my addiction, I chose my addiction over spending quality time with my loved ones.
ln my early forty’s, I finally hit rock bottom. I asked the Lord to either take me out of this world or help me out of my addiction. I will always remember promising Him that if He would save me, I would devote my life to helping and introducing others to the wonderful gift of eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Praise God that the Lord worked through a friend of a friend and led me to the Columbus mission where I joined the New Life program.
After graduating from the New Life Program, I moved to the mission in York where I served through the one-year internship called the Influence Program. After graduating from the Influence Program, The Mission hired in the York location as a ministry associate. The Lord has truly blessed me in every aspect of my life. I have a wonderful relationship with my family and friends and the time I spend with my daughter is the greatest. Now she can see what the Lord has done in me as a testament of His grace and mercy.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is o new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
